Week 8 NFL DFS Cheat Sheet – Defense & Kickers – FanDuel & DraftKings Expert Lineup Picks

Week 8 NFL DFS Cheat Sheet – Defense & Kickers (DST/K) – FanDuel & DraftKings Expert Lineup Picks & Analysis.

Welcome to the Defense & Kickers Cheat Sheet.

In this post we sharing our top options and plays at the DST/K position for each DFS week of the 2016-2017 NFL season.

We will break them down into three tiers and give you our top plays in each tier, we will also be highlighting players for a specific site when the pricing or scoring of that site calls for it.

The tiers are as follows:

  1. Top Tier
  2. Mid Tier
  3. Value Tier

Here we go…

Top Tier

Jets ($4,700 FD; $3,400 DK)

The Jets finally showed what kind of defense we all thought they were last week against the Ravens. In that game they only allowed ten points, forced three turnovers and had two sacks on their way to scoring 12 fantasy points. This week I expect the Jets to have similar if not bigger stats as they are facing off against a Browns team that is just awful on offense. The Browns have allowed the third most sacks this season at 21 and have ten turnovers. To top those numbers off they will be starting their fourth quarterback of the season. The Jets should have another monster day on the defensive end and at their very affordable prices, I am having a hard time fading them on this slate.

Mid Tier

Patriots ($4,500 FD; $3,300 DK)

The Patriots are not a defense to target if you are looking for upside as they don’t really force turnovers or get sacks but what the Patriots are is a very safe defense as they don’t allow a ton of points. This season the Patriots are fourth in points per game at 15.3. With the Bills banged up on offense at every skill position minus quarterback, I like the Patriots to have another solid game.

Value Tier

Lions ($4,400 FD; $2,500 DK)

The Lions are not a very good defense at all. They are only averaging 4.86 fantasy points a game and have not scored above nine fantasy points all season long. They rank in the bottom half of the league in points allowed, sacks and turnovers. Those are bad numbers any way you slice it. With that being said I love the Lions in GPPs this week as they get the privilege of facing off against a Texans team that is likely to be without their only threat on offense Lamar Miller. With no Miller the Texans will be forced to put the ball in the hands of Brock Osweiler and that is great news for the Lions as Osweiler is just an awful quarterback.

We are not going to go into too much depth with our kickers each week since FanDuel is the only site that still uses a kicker. For our kicker we are going to give you the one or two names we are targeting each week. This kicker will normally be in a high scoring game and in good weather conditions.

Cairo Santos ($4,600 FD)

I had Santos here last week and while he was not great he was not bad either scoring ten fantasy points. That is the minimum amount I look for at the position. This week I not only think Santos reaches that amount again but exceeds that amount as the Chiefs take on the Colts. The Chiefs should have no problem moving the ball and putting up points on this Colts defense that is not very good. That Colts defense is allowing 28.6 points per game. The Colts also give up a ton of fantasy points to kicker and have allowed five of the seven kickers they have faced to score at least ten fantasy points. Santos at just above site minimum is the only kicker I am really looking at on this smaller than normal slate.
