Chalk Talk – Projected High-Own Plays & Suggested Lower-Own Pivots – Week 7 NFL DFS

Chalk Talk – Projected High-Own Plays & Suggested Lower-Own Pivots for Week 7 of the NFL DFS Season (2016-2017). Helping you find lower-own candidates that can be difference makers in GPPs.

With FanDuel’s new system you can no longer see the ownership of players until their game starts. With us no longer being able to give you exact percentages of player we are going to give you who we feel will be the most popular players at each position. We will give you three to four players at each position that should be extremely popular and a pivot at each position to get away from the crowd or chalk.

The chalk

Tom Brady, Matt Ryan, Kirk Cousins

Players to pivot too

  • The quarterback position is wide open this week but the three names listed above are the names that I am hearing a lot about. While I like all three guys above the only one that I am in love with is Ryan and have no trouble fading the other two guys this week.
  • If fading the guys above I am really looking at two names in their place. The first guy I really like as a pivot is Blake Bortles. I know Brad hates Bortles in general but I am sure that he would agree with me that this is a great week to play him against a Raiders team that is allowing the most passing yards per game this season.
  • The other quarterback I really like who I feel is going to be less than five percent owned is Sam Bradford. This may be a gut call for me but I love the way Bradford has looked with three of his four weeks over 15 FanDuel points. The Eagles are also struggling as of late. I also cannot ignore the revenge factor

Running Back

The Chalk

DeMarco Murray, Jay Ajayi, Mike Gillislee, Jacquizz Rodgers, Mike Davis

Players to pivot too

  • The chalk this week is to play two of the many cheap running backs on this slate. There is just so much value with injuries out there that I have a hard time spending up at the position. With that being said the contrarian move this week is to actually spend up at running back.
  • Another contrarian move I am thinking about doing is playing David Johnson in a really bad match-up against the Seahawks. The Seahawks are playing as good on the defensive side of the ball as they have in years past but Johnson is just that good.

Wide Receivers

The Chalk

Julio Jones, Mike Evans, A.J. Green, Amari Cooper, T.Y. Hilton

Players to pivot too

  • With all the value at running back spending up at wide receiver is going to be a very popular thing to do. While I agree with that strategy if you want to separate yourself in your GPP contests I would look at playing guys like Allen Robinson or Antonio Brown who have either under performed as is the case with Robinson or playing with a backup quarterback like Brown.
  • Another player I like that is flying under the radar is Bradon Marshall. Marshall has been playing great and now gets the benefit of having Geno Smith throw to him. Smith loves to target Marshall and I like Marshall to have another huge game.
  • Another contrarian move on this slate like I talked about earlier would be to spend down at wide receiver and spend up at running back. If you chose to go that route there is a lot of value at the wide receiver position to look at.

Tight Ends

The Chalk

Rob Gronkowski, Jake Doyle, Delaine Walker, Jimmy Graham

Players to pivot too

  • Regardless if you choose to spend up to Gronk or spend down to a player like Doyle I don’t see fading the chalk at the position this week. No tight end is ever that highly owned and there are so many ways you can go at the position that I am not over thinking this week and playing one of the four guys listed above.
  • Some other names that I like and should have lower ownership than the guys listed above are Hunter Henry and Julius Thomas.
