Free daily fantasy basketball lineup advice, picks and plays (4/12) to help you win your DFS contests.
Let’s take a closer look at some FanDuel NBA DFS action with our “Starting 5” picks for the day’s slate.
For those of you new to Moxyball or new to this column, welcome, and for those of you who have been reading with us since last year, welcome back.
In this column we give you a play to consider at each position and then our 6th man who will be the one player that I will be personally spending up for.
Ok… let’s jump in.
Note: The important thing with NBA DFS is to be nimble and ready to make roster changes as injury news breaks throughout the day – right around 10-15 minutes before lineup lock in particular. Just like we mentioned in our season primer article that talked to overarching strategies for success, you need to be able to lock in some key values as they emerge throughout the day to get that leg up on your competition. These picks below are being shared first thing in the day from guys we like on paper – but you never know how their outlook is going to change as the day rolls on and other attractive plays shine through.
PG – Goran Dragic
There are very few teams that have something to fight for and I will be targeting players from those teams this late in the season. The Heat are one of those teams and Dragic is an excellent option. He has been on fire to end the season and has at least 28 fantasy points seven of his past eight games. The Pistons are not the greatest match-up in the world but they are not the worst either and Dragic should have another solid game.
SG – Norman Powell
With the Cavs winning last night the Raptors have nothing to play for and I expect to see most of their players rest against Philly. If that does happen Powell becomes a great play. Last time the Raptors rested players, Powell played 41 minutes while having a 27/6/4 line on his way to 39.2 fantasy points. The 76ers are an awful team and Powell should have another similar huge game.
SF – Matt Barnes
I continue to say Barnes is an excellent play and he continues to make me look good. Barnes has at least 25 fantasy points in eight of his past ten games and is coming off a monster performance against the Warriors. The Grizzlies don’t have any choice with all their injuries but to play Barnes heavy minutes and I think he has another huge game against his former team tonight.
