Free daily fantasy basketball lineup advice, picks and plays (2/10) to help you win your DFS contests.
Let’s take a closer look at some FanDuel & DraftKings NBA DFS action with our “Starting 5” picks for the day’s slate.
For those of you new to Moxyball or new to this column, welcome, and for those of you who have been reading with us since last year, welcome back.
In this column we give you a play to consider at each position and then our 6th man who will be the one player that I will be personally spending up for.
Ok… let’s jump in.
Note: The important thing with NBA DFS is to be nimble and ready to make roster changes as injury news breaks throughout the day – right around 10-15 minutes before lineup lock in particular. Just like we mentioned in our season primer article that talked to overarching strategies for success, you need to be able to lock in some key values as they emerge throughout the day to get that leg up on your competition. These picks below are being shared first thing in the day from guys we like on paper – but you never know how their outlook is going to change as the day rolls on and other attractive plays shine through.
PG – Ish Smith
I love Ish tonight against one of the worst defenses in the NBA. The Kings allow the 2nd most fantasy points per game and most points per game. Ish has been excellent in his past four games and has gone over 36 fantasy points in three of those games. I fully expect another 30 plus fantasy point outing for Ish tonight.
SG – Nicolas Batum
FanDuel has finally moved Batum over to shooting guard and I could not be happier about the change. Shooting guard is always a very thin position and Batum adds an excellent option at the position. He has been on fire over the past three games and has at least 40 fantasy points in each game. Tonight should be more of the same for Batum in what should be an excellent game against the Pacers.
SF- Kawhi Leonard
Staying on the Kawhi train tonight. Leonard should get close to 30 minutes once again tonight and when he plays 30 minutes he is too cheap. In his past four games over 30 minutes Leonard is averaging 38.9 fantasy points and I see no reason for that to stop against a weak Magic team.
