FanDuel & DraftKings Expert NBA DFS Cash Game Lineup Picks for Sunday, November 22, 2015.
Free daily fantasy basketball lineup advice, picks and plays (11/22) to help you win your DFS contests.
Let’s take a closer look at some FanDuel & DraftKings NBA DFS action with our “Starting 5” picks for tonight’s slate.
For those of you new to Moxyball or new to this column, welcome, and for those of you who joined us last year, welcome back.
In this column we give you a play to consider at each position and then our 6th man who will be the one player that I will be personally spending up for.
Let us not waste any more time and jump right into it.
Note: The important thing with NBA DFS is to be nimble and ready to make roster changes as injury news breaks throughout the day – right around 10-15 minutes before lineup lock in particular. Just like we mentioned in our season primer article that talked to overarching strategies for success, you need to be able to lock in some key values as they emerge throughout the day to get that leg up on your competition. These picks below are being shared first thing in the day from guys we like on paper – but you never know how their outlook is going to change as the day rolls on and other attractive plays shine through.
Note: These picks were taken from the main slate of games and did not include the early game (TOR @ LAC).
PG- Brandon Knight
Point guard is loaded tonight. You have 6 guys on tonight’s slate that are averaging 30 fantasy points are better and have 2 that average better than 50. This is the position you want to spend up on and save on other positions. Knight is going to be one of my two point guards on this slate even though I am a little worried about his good game bad game streak. Just look at his FanDuel log over the past 7 games: 32.9, 14.3, 44.4, 10.2, 70.5, 29.6, 61.2. If that continues tonight would be a bad game for Knight but I am willing to take a chance that does not happen against the Pelicans. The Pelicans allow the most fantasy points to point guards. I am locking in Knight at his price tag and building around him.
SG- Dion Waiters
If we are spending up at point guard we are going to need value and shooting guard is a perfect place to do it at. Waiters is one of the first places I would look but only if Kevin Durant is ruled out once again. Waiters is playing heavy minutes without Durant and is playing well. In Waiters past 7 games he is averaging 20.91 fantasy points a game. If he hits that number tonight he would easily exceed 4X value and push towards the 5X plus value that we love to see.
SF- Jae Crowder
Crowder constantly makes this list but for good reason. He continues to return great value on a nightly basis. He has gone over 4X value in all but 2 games this season and has gone over 5X value in 7 of his 12 games. I am going to lock and load Crowder every time he takes the floor at his price point.
PF- Thaddeus Young
Power forward is another deep position tonight but unlike point guard it offers a lot of value. It is time for me to give love to Young who I will admit have not been high on mainly because he plays for the Nets. Young has played spectacular this season and is averaging 15.62 points and 8.15 rebounds per game. He has been particularly great over his past 4 games. In that time frame he has 3 double-doubles and is averaging 39.08 fantasy points. The Celtics are a tough defensive team but Young was able to but up 14 points and 10 boards against them in his last game.
C- Roy Hibbert
I can not believe I am recommending Hibbert. I can not stand him as a basketball player and cried for hours when the Lakers picked him up. For those of you who don’t know I am a die hard Lakers fan who bleeds purple and gold. To put in even more context I missed my high school graduation because the Lakers were in the finals and I never miss a Lakers game. Anyways back to Hibbert and why I am liking him as a value play tonight. First is the fact that Hibbert has hit 4x value in 5 of his past 6 games. Second is his opponent in the Trail Blazers who rank 27 in allowing fantasy points to the center position. You are going to need to take a cold shower after putting Hibbert in your lineup but for cash games on this slate you are not going to find a better value.
The Sixth Man
PF- Draymond Green
Woah in a slate that features Damian Lillard, Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook, and Anthony Davis the player I am telling you to pay up for is Green. All of this after telling you Hibbert is a great value play tonight. I must be going even more crazier than I already am. That sentence might be true but Green deserves to be in your lineup with the way he is playing. He has proven himself to be the Warriors second best player and is their glue. He is a Swizz Army Knife who does a little bit of everything for them. The last time out against Denver, Green flirted with a triple-double and I like him to flirt with one again tonight.
