Let’s turn the page and look ahead to Nov 13 (11/13) as we try to get back on track with today’s NBA DFS FanDuel picks, tips & advice.

It’s a fairly light slate of games for November 13, with only 4 matchups on the hard court. That being said, there should be some nice opportunities for 50-50 wins – so let’s take a look at who we think sets up as strong plays for tonight.

PG1: Kyle Lowry, $8,300

PG2: Mike Conley, $7,100

SG1: Joe Johnson, $6,400

SG2: Tony Allen, $4,800

SF1: Draymond Green, $6,500

SF2: K.J. McDaniels, $4,300

PF1: Pau Gasol, $8,600

PF2: Dirk Nowitzki, $7,800

C: Andrew Bogut, $5,800

Projection if all goes well: 271 points

We feel today’s lineup is a strong bet for 50-50 contests, with a medium rating in the Moxyball NBA DFS algorithm.

Daily Notes:

  • Fairly safe bets for 4.5+ ROI today include: Joe Johnson, K.J. McDaniels, Draymond Green, Dirk Nowitzki.
  • Love the matchups for Kyle Lowry, K.J. McDaniels, Pau Gasol, Dirk Nowitzki. These guys should all have very nice games.
  • Gasol traditionally carves up the Raptors (trust me, I’m a Raptors fan and have seen this happen many, many times.)
  • Allen is a rock solid SG2 option at a very reasonable price. Just about a lock for 20 FDP on a given night as he plays such a key role on defense.
  • Green’s salary is up to $6,500 – but don’t let this scare you off. He’s still worth the play. Last game he was shadowed by Kawhi Leonard which caused his 22 FDP output… expect something closer to 30 FDP tonight.
  • Bogut should be a nice value play at C today, going up against Brook Lopez on the back-end of a back-to-back for the Nets.
  • $400 left on the table, but no better way to spend it from a value perspective.
  • Conley may not be the most popular choice, but he’s probably facing off against Ramon Sessions tonight as Darren Collison is iffy… should be a nice where he’s able to put up 30+ FDP.

  1. Tyson chandler vs sixes!? Thoughts

    • Chandler is still a solid play, we just prefer Bogut vs Brooklyn. Good positional matchup, Brooklyn on 2nd half of b2b…Chandler is a solid sub if you prefer him though!

      • What r u thinking about this lineup with Chandler…Joe Johnson, Chandler Parsons and Deron Williams?

        • Not a bad lineup to give a try. Johnson & Deron should both have solid games. Waiting for Parsons to get back on track before fully trusting him in DFS. That said – tonight could be a nice 30+ FDP game from him. Taking the wait and see approach right now, though.

          • I am new in the fantasy basketball betting. I have been doing more of the “multiplier” what the difference between that and the 50/50? Its seems that if I don.t have a team that gets 265 to 300 pts it’s doesn’t do me any good. Its that the same for all the leagues?

          • Simply put, the 50-50 format rewards the top 50% of entrants in that contest. The multipliers tend to reward a smaller percentage of participants, but have higher value prizes as a result. It’s all about the level of risk you want to take. Go for the big bucks but have a smaller chance of winning… or go for the safer route with a better chance (though less-lucrative). Always be sure to check the payout zone for each contest you enter to get an idea of what percentile you need to finish in to win. We always start with 50-50s because of the 50% chance. It ultimately depends on how confident you are with your roster. Good luck!

  2. Possibly swap KJ McDaniels for Mbah a Moute and pick up some extra money.

    • If you are a little short on $ and want to free up a little more room to buy a higher priced player you like – then I am all for it. With a $3,800 pricetag – returns can be volatile from the player for sure, but if you get 18 FP from him – and you can increase production elsewhere – its a viable strategy.

    • Mbah a Moute has never been able to shoot the ball in his career. The past games were flukes imo

  3. Thanks, Is McLemore not an option tonight vs MEM? He has been turning in solid 4+ ROI lately….thoughts?

    • I personally don’t trust him to put up 20 FDP against Memphis. He’s a fairly empty fantasy player in that you’re depending on his ability to score to get FDP value. I’d recommend passing on him tonight.

  4. I don’t see Lowry doing well against Rose/Hinrich. Even without Rose (last year) Lowry couldn’t do shit against the bulls, putting up very mediocre numbers every game. Too much defensive lock-down. Amir Johnson/Tross are the men to own against the bulls tonight.

    • It’s definitely a concern. You can make a good argument for taking out Lowry and going with another PG like Deron Williams instead, while leveraging the savings elsewhere. I put Lowry in based on the insight that Chicago has given up the 2nd most FDP/game against the PG position over their last 5. I’ll take another look at this before locking in the lineup tonight on FanDuel. Thanks Frank!

  5. Am I crazy to to start Curry in a Triple Double game? Is the match up that bad?

    • It’s fine, as long as you’re feeling comfortable about your other positions. Curry costs a pretty penny, so it will be a bit more difficult to find value at other positions with less cash to work with. A triple double format does tend to reward those that go for the big win (i.e. riskier, higher-upside lineups) – so it’s a good gamble if you like the rest of your roster to make up the rest of the FDP to get you into the payout zone.

  6. curry, harris
    j. johnson, lee
    gay, d. green
    dirk, garnett,
    chandler

    ??????

    • going into 50/50 games

      • A little more risk than I typically would recommend for 50-50 considering the potential volatility of Harris & Garnett – but not a bad squad by any means. Getting Curry, Gay & Dirk together on one roster should easily get you 100-110+ points, so that’s a strong start. Good luck, Luan!
