Let’s get right down to it. Here are our daily fantasy baseball picks for today’s games.
|P||David Price||$11,100||David Price is having a terrific season, and is almost a must-start tonight in any daily league. He faces Boston whose hitters are coming off 3 straight losses in Toronto. Their 3 best hitters (David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia, Mike Napoli) sport OPS’s under .750 against Price. Fun fact – Napoli has a 56% K-rate against Price for his career. Ride one of baseball’s best pitchers to glory tonight.|
|C||Stephen Vogt||$2,800||Vogt has been a top 10 option for fantasy points per game over the last 15 days with 2.8/game (Fanduel) and remains a great value option at the price. He faces Jerome Williams tonight, who is going to let up a ton of hits and base-runners to a potent Oakland offense.|
|1B||Nick Swisher||$2,200||This is me rolling the dice a little bit, but also believing in myself at the same time. I’ve been recommending Swisher to our readers as a buy-low target in leagues. At this price tag, you can’t go wrong. He’s been seeing the ball well of late and is capable of putting up 3-5 points in a game at just about any time. He’s averaged 2.4 points (Fanduel) over his last 15 and makes for a solid flier tonight.|
|2B||Arismendy Alcantara||$3,300||I’m going to keep touting him until he makes me look bad. So far, this hasn’t happened. One of my favourite sleeper prospects heading into the year – and he’ll continue to be my go to guy in fantasy as long as he is under-value. He put up 4.2 points last night and should be good for a couple more today.|
|SS||Jose Reyes||$4,000||Jose Reyes has very strong career numbers against Hiroki Kuroda. The Jays are in a nice little groove offensively at the moment and he’s their table-setter. He has one of the better points per dollar ratios among shortstops and is a strong play tonight in my books.|
|3B||Josh Donaldson||$4,000||With a slash line of .389/.421/.556 against Jerome Williams, coupled with the incredible year he’s having, Donaldson is at the top of my list for third basemen to roll with this evening.|
|OF||Adam Eaton||$3,000||He’s coming off a really nice game last night (6.5 points) and faces Kevin Correia at 8:10pm today. Sign me up.|
|OF||Gerardo Parra||$2,400||Parra is coming off a 6.25 point performance against Anibal Sanchez (a 3-hit night) and is facing Kyle Kendrick tonight, who he has favorable numbers against over his career. With a 1.051 OPS and his ability to put the ball in play, he’s a nice value play who should be good for at least 2 points tonight.|
|OF||Allen Craig||$2,200||Craig is in the midst of a down year, but is nice value at the minimum $2,200 price tag. He faces Travis Wood this evening and sports a career .321/.345/.607 slash line against him, with 2 HR in 28 at bats. He should be good for a nice 2-3+ point night for you, as long as he’s in the lineup. I’ll be surprised if he’s not.|
- Carlos Gonzalez has good career numbers against Charlie Morton, who he faces tonight. CarGo has been struggling a bit of late, but is a decent value at $3,600 given his track record – not to mention his ability to burst out at any given time with a huge game.
- It was between Eaton and Desmond Jennings for the $3,000 OF spot, but I had to go with Eaton considering his opponent on the mound (Kevin Correia). Jennings faces Jon Lester tonight, who is having a very nice season for the Red Sox. Jennings has a lifetime .333 average and .972 OPS against Lester (27 at bats) and could have a nice game if he maintains his success tonight.
- Joe Kelly is a nice value SP play at $5,900 today. He faces the anemic Chicago Cubs offense and managed 14 fantasy points in his last start. Look for a win out of Kelly today, especially with Rizzo’s career struggles against him (.243 career OPS in 16 at bats).
- Alex Wood is another SP with a favorable matchup today that can easily slot into lineups considering he faces San Diego. At $7,700 he’s tremendous value. He has terrific K-upside, is facing a really poor offense and is at home tonight.
